The Top 6 Real Estate Websites for Investors

The internet is rich with tools for real estate investors.  These are the 6 websites I recommend as essentials for your real estate investing business.

1)    Listings and local information websites – Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com and similar websites are invaluable resources not only of currently available listings, but local information on schools and services, sales of comparables, and statistical data.  I use Zillow most often as it has readily accessible statistics and community information for each property listed.

2)    The MLS (Multiple Listing Service) is still an essential for a complete look at the available listings.  MLS is a compilation of broker and agent listings and activity. If you are not eligible for access, add a realtor to your network to help you. This is the MOST essential tool any real estate investor can have…period!

3)    ForeclosureRadar.com for the western states, and similar foreclosure sites for other regions, track large amounts of information that is essential to identifying new projects.  Available pre-foreclosures, scheduled-for-sale and bank-owned properties; outcomes including sale, REO, or cancellation; bids; discounting; and much more.  Find a site that includes when properties are scheduled for auction.

4)    Local county recorder’s offices are now online in most areas.  Public records you need to know about are available there, including property ownership documents, property sales and transfers, and more.  Be aware that the online services differ by county, so check into yours.

5)    Google Maps cuts down on trips to view properties!  From your chair you can view photos of both the property and the neighborhood.  Included are satellite images of the surrounding region to get a feel for the distance to shopping, schools, and more.

6)    SignNow is an online application that allows you to legally sign any document with a screen click, using your mobile device, tablet, or computer.  No need to print, sign, scan, and email or mail.  It can be used from wherever you are, keeping deals moving for a busy investor.  And – it’s free!

There is no limit to the tools and information you can find on the web, but these six are my own essentials.  Keep your internet access devices handy, make use of these online tools and keep your business moving with you throughout the day.
